| Anthropology of hidden misdeed |
Introduction
Although anthropology of crime is a typical 21st century topic, we, the anthropologists, do not feel enough involved in the humanization of
the global society despite the wealth of our knowledge which unfortunately is communicated either only to the students, before a limited
audience at the Conferences, or in our articles that exchange info among colleagues but do not communicate dialogue with the
communities and wider segments of society in the way that really would have huge impact on society. Internet becomes not an
opportunity for involving the scholars in open education, since most of the publishers prefer to make money and passwords, links and
pdf files of money seekers lock the most of the actual articles. The newspapers do not have place for our articles or we do not have time
to write for the newspapers. Youtube.com is so diverse and a huge bank of information, that even the strongest social voice could
disappear because of the interest in more entertaining topics.
The problems of the invisible world of human actions and relationships come first of all because of the fact that this world is hidden and
there is no guarantee that even people around us do not experience such. In fact, we even may have real pieces of information that they
do, but since it is a hidden world (1) and when there is a conflict, usually the power and not the truth win (2), we better to keep patient.
Then, to criticize, reveal and analyze something that just makes people around you saver, looks dysfuntional and out of date. But should
we keep pink cultural glasses on our eyes because of this risk? Can we try to build a social stage for discussion and take the risk to help
the society by using the social sensitiveness for digging deeper in invisible, darker or brighter but by all circumstances layers that need to
be moved to the surface if we want to get rid of them or to acknowledge that in this invisible ocean there are also so nice things, but some
people are even afraid to connect their names with the beautiful things that have been doing for the society.
If I were asked about the ideal society, it would be a society without invisible behavior. In particular, to define invisible misdeed we need
to refer to all activities that would be defined as a crime if they are documented, discovered and most importantly reported to the legal
institutions. In some cases the performers act on the edge and usually they stay save because the power helps. In other cases they just
believe that there are no people around who would put themselves in trouble to deal with hidden misdeed. First of all it takes time,
although today every minute costs money. Also, the people who have been practicing hidden crime often have power and can put anybody
in a big trouble. So, as an anthropologist, again even I would suggest just one to try to avoid a conflict in your everydayness, because
usually the power wins in the conflict. The the voice of the truth is not always strong and with power.
But above is what I am thinking today and not exactly what I want to think. So, who know – the world changes, the people change, and if
more pages and more net-rings come out not with password protected nice thoughts, but of open dialogue, in nearer future we may be
able to say – there is no material for this website, so we need to send it to the archive.
