PhD is social status

Although we may believe that the Cold War is behind, the totalitarian way if thinking has been reproduced
by so may individuals and social groups that we need general reevaluation of all values.
The most important for science is PhD. This title means academic knowledge. There are national
schools where it is possible the title to be given with connections because of the supervisors, but on the
whole such cases are exceptions and in our controversial and socially crappy life today PhD means a very
serious social status.
However, there are some non-for-profit organizations that have been trying in the spirit of the Cold War
artificially to produce competition, stratify specific layers and diminish certain individuals. The goal of those
organizations is to increase the visible and invisible power of the leaders, and to reproduce the old rule of
obeying the power if you want to succeed. However, this rule costs today the world economic and cultural
crises. We more and more understand that we need to obey the integrity, to respect our differences and to
work together as a community.  There is no alternative.
In the context of analyzing of the advance of the personalistic society, of special importance are not the
titles of power, but the titles of prestige. Both kinds are social status. PhD may overlap with power and may
not. But it is a title of social status as a result of a scientific achievement. Respectively, all non-for-profit
organizations need to respect the PhD titles and not to diminish them by for instance, placing the abstracts
of the PhD holders with non-PhD holders in the common basket of torture of the censorship. Since it
occurs that many such organizations serve very narrow careerist interests and their leaders are even with
very low qualification, it is more than important to remind that PhD is a social status and their holders
desire respect and not making them victims in either out-of date invisible games or of disable leadership
without a view on future. How the PhD titles will be respected is in turn a criterion how such organizations
will be respected by the people.
