With Dyana Dafova before her concert in Las Vegas
Dyana Dafova is one of the most popular Bulgarian singers in the USA. She will answer below some my questions before her concert
on the 28th of September 2009 in Las Vegas. A special websites was built for her at http://www.iianthropology.

Lolita Nikolova: Hi, Dyana, it is just amazing you will represent the Bulgarian culture in Las Vegas. How do you feel before the concert?
Dyana Dafova: Very tense, overworked and at the same time happy for having the opportunity to present my own show with my own
music in the very prestigious place for the world show business like Vegas. The organization, which we have to do, is big, because I am
taking 18 people, supporting artists from Bulgaria with me and I am responsible for each of them for this trip. They are all professional
and, personally chosen by me and I am sure that we will present the modern Bulgarian culture on high international level, which will
make audience recognize the real talent of the Bulgarians and their strong traditions.
Lolita Nikolova: What is the common and what is different between the Bulgarians in Bulgaria and the Bulgarians in the USA?
Dyana Dafova: It is a good question. I have met a lot of Bulgarians living for long time in USA during my concerts in Chicago, going to
Los Angeles and staying in Houston. What I was pleased to notice is that the Bulgarians don’t forget their traditions. They enjoy the
religious and national celebrations; keep their food taste and also the Balkan features. What I would like to see more is a stronger unity
among them, like many other foreign societies have in America.
Lolita Nikolova: What do you like the most when you are in the USA?
Dyana Dafova: I like the open-minded people, the opportunities given to everyone, the optimism and wish for success.
Lolita Nikolova: What is your favorite own song?
Dyana Dafova: All the songs I am performing in my concerts are my own compositions. They are my own children; therefore I can’t have
a favorite one.
Lolita Nikolova: What is your favorite singer?
Dyana Dafova: I have a lot of favorite singers in the different styles of music. I like the class of Celine Dion.
Lolita Nikolova: You have been sending humanistic messages to the world with your songs. What is generally the role of music and
culture in reconnected the people after this so aggressive invasion of technology in our everydayness? How many live concerts do you
have yearly?
Dyana Dafova: I truly believe and keep repeating in my interviews that the culture and especially the music is the best ambassador
between the people around the world. The good art should be able to educate for respecting the real values in life. It has to make people
more positive, hopeful, tolerant and esthetic.
My concerts are big spectaculars and need a lot of preparations, so I make 3-4 live shows a year. You can visit my website: www.

Lolita Nikolova: What would like to wish the Bulgarians all over the world?
Dyana Dafova: To keep in their hearts the good traditions of our country, to be proud of our spiritual and historical roots, to prove their
abilities, learn about all the positive experiences of the other countries and somehow bring their knowledge back to Bulgaria.
Lolita Nikolova: We added you to the list of the Bulgarians of year 2009 in the USA for you humanistic mission to reconnect people. You
are together with another great Bulgarian, Miss Utah 2009, Laura Chukanov. Do you think that the live music and the beauty in our
everydayness can change the people and reconnect them?
Dyana Dafova: It is always good to use the opportunity and underline that the beautiful art and the art in beauty are changing and
connecting people in a positive way.
