Is Firing so Bad?
Beyond the household, the microsocial group at work is another basic unit of social
reproduction. The individual in fact spends the most of his/her social time at work, so we have
to acknowledge that the business place becomes a sort of second home and many of the
relationships would have allusion of the households in which the hierarchically or segmentary
complimented structured relationships have dominated.
 At work places oriented toward technological operations or which have a dispersed
structure, the main interaction is between the employee and the techniques or the distant
client, then, the character of the leadership depends on the nature of the social personality of
the leaders. In principal, it seems at such work places the complimentary segmentary
structure is possible to dominate and the success of the employee in the company could
depend exclusively on his/her professional qualities.
 At work places with active communication with customers and clients or active interactions
between the employees, the hierarchy is essential. The hierarchy creates a vertical cohesion
but also opportunity for visible and invisible conflicts and for pressure of an invisible power
that could lead even to undervalue and punishing of highly profound employees just because
they cannot contribution effectively to the reproduction of the psychology of the social
relationships that were proved to have been successful for the company. Despite the contact
between the employee and the customers or the performed duties have to be leading for the
characteristics of the former, in fact most important is how the team member contributes to the
successful reproduction of the social relationships in the company.
 How to recognize the companies that would create social-psychological problems for the
employees? Probably the best indicator is the visible fluctuation of labor.
 Can you complain if you feel that you were excluded not because of your directly performed
duties? You can, but in fact you have to believe and understand that any employee is only a
team member and the success of the company could be at the expenses even of employees
with excellent professional qualities. In many cases firing in fact means that you have just
better abilities that the given company requires. So, firing could just prove your positive
qualities and attitude.
