| General comments (Especially for new students and researchers) The best search engine on Internet is google.com (just type all words for subject of search connected by +). Intute has been developing very slow, with unclear criteria of selections, which at this point in many cases are beyond the academic ethics. Unfortunately, Intute did not want to delete from their ad "the best", that itself is a fact without precedent on Internet. This search engine can be accepted still as a beginner on Internet that can easily turn (or it has been turned) to a Internet deviation toward serving a specific narrow interests. For example, compare: Bulgarian archaeology - 1 entry (http://www.intute.ac.uk/cgi-bin/search.pl?term1=Bulgarian+archaeology&subject=All&limit=0&submit.x=14&submit. y=5) [12-16-08] Romanian archaeology: 10 records (http://www.intute.ac.uk/cgi-bin/search.pl?term1=Romanian+archaeology&subject=All&limit=0&submit.x=15&submit .y=6) [12-16-08] Serbian archaeology - 2 records (http://www.intute.ac.uk/cgi-bin/search.pl?term1=Serbian+archaeology&subject=All&limit=0&submit.x=8&submit.y= 4) [12-16-08] Albanian archaeology - 4 records (http://www.intute.ac.uk/cgi-bin/search.pl?term1=Albanian+archaeology&subject=All&limit=0&submit.x=11&submit.y =11) [12-16-08] Homepage of Intute: http://www.intute.ac.uk/ About Intute: http://www.intute.ac.uk/about.html To suggest link to be included in Intute: http://www.intute.ac.uk/suggest.html Note: it is not clear whether the author of the suggested site will be paid a honorarium since Intute is free for use but has been built and maintained by a paid staff. Logically, everybody who participate in building Intute should be paid, but since we have the precedent of "best" ad, I would suggest first to consult with Intute not only about the honorarium but also whether they will include your full text or it will be edited. The Bibliography includes all basic titles on Balkan Prehistory, on anthropological theory (in particular enculturation), basic titles from other regions of Eurasia for comparative analysis, links to booksellers, reviews and home pages of authors included in the bibliography. The website has been actualized regularly by adding new and old titles and links to related websites. Useful also for other subjects: Bulgarian archaeology, Romanian archaeology, Serbian archaeology, Anthropology, etc. |
