The 15th Annual Conference in Riva del Garda of EAA is one of the most controversial social
meetings of early 21st century. It was a result of terrifying corruption during the approval
of the sessions for the meeting as a result of which most important sessions were not in
the program. Although with a series of presentations, I do not recommend the
participation at this meeting to be accounted as an achievement, especially within
competition of grants of young archaeologists. The organization gave string arguments
that connections, personal interests of the so-called Scientific committee and non-ethics
had underlaid all the Conference. However, I do feel EAA as very important for European
Archaeology and despite some present leaders like Dr Eszter Banffy and Dr Peter Biehl (I
have been still waiting for the reviews of my proposed session, dear colleagues!), we may
believe that it has a good and respectful future in our social environment.
