Dear reader: There are so few oil rose gifted places in the world! But when I was the 6th and 7th grades I lived together with my parental grandparents in Karlovo (South Central Bulgaria), which is one of those few oil rose valleys. It was long time ago, in 1971-1972. In May we used to wake up at 4.00 AM to go with the other schoolmates to have gathered oil roses. Now, at least in the Karlovo valley, in most of the oil rose fields - lavender since the oil roses almost had disappeared. But the gifted by nature regions as a crossroad of the Balkan cultures are very special! When the oil rose gold almost vanished another gold was unearthed - the ancient gold! Thousands and thousands years the Gold valleys kept in their earth treasures and the gold secrets of the past, but once discovered today, a few people with power decided that the valleys and their population don't need their Gold (see my academic opinion). O, probably it is wrong to think that the archaeological finds should be kept close to their millennium home and be within their own cultural context. I need your response to see whether my opinion is also your opinion. Thank you in advance for your time! While there is today still oil rose (at least enough for Rose Festivals and limited production), a danger is coming that the next unearthed gold will be taken again away from its HOME! |

The grave-tomb is still in situ and can be seen by visitors. Part of the finds are in Kazanluk and the mask - in Sofia |
